Fight back against Parkinson disease
Dopamine boxing is a fitness program designed specifically for people living with all levels of Parkinson’s disease. The classes aim to improve both fine and large motor impairments, with elements focusing on aerobic fitness, strength training, core stability, balance and flexibility exercises. Loud vocalizations are encouraged in order to improve participant’s speech, and since it is a group exercise class, a social support circle is created. The boxing element of the class is empowering, encouraging our participant’s to fight back against Parkinson’s disease. Research has shown that participation in a boxing class leads to an improved quality of life and decreased depression, anxiety and fatigue among people living with Parkinson's disease.
